Annapurna Base Camp Trekking

Annapurna Base Camp

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a Himalayan journey in the Annapurna region, which lies in the western part of Nepal. Mt. Annapurna is the 10th highest peak in the world. The trail of the Annapurna Base Cam Trekking is surrounded by the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, which is spread in 7639 kilometers. Beginning of the wonderful city- Pokhara, the trek covers the ethnic villages, most of Gurung and Magar, hilly landscape, sunrise viewpoints and the natural hot spring. Of course the warm welcome of the local people is superb.

Also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking, it goes through the beautiful villages as Ghorepani, Tadapani, Chhomrong, Deurali and other ethnic communities. During the trekking, you can see the wonderful sunrise view and the Annapurna Himalayan range including Dhaulagiri, Manaslu and Lamjung Himal range from Poon Hill. The Annapurna Base Camp is located at 4140 meters above sea level. It is in the shape of an amphitheatre, surrounded by the Annapurna Himalayan range. The sunrise view over the snow peaked Himalayas is the incredible memory of the trip. The landscape is rugged and rocky. The flora in this trekking includes varieties of orchids and some of the richest temperate rhododendron forest. Also, there are varieties of birds and animals as Snow leopards and Blue Sheep. The trekking to Annapurna Base Camp descends down to Pokhara via Jhinu hot spring and the trip ends.

Spring and autumn are the best seasons for the treks to the Annapurna Base Camp. Although other seasons are also suitable, the winter season is a challenging trek in this route.
